The Studierendenwerk Greifswald is a member of the Deutsches Studentenwerk (DSW) and the Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband (DPWV), Landesverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V.

The Studierendenwerk Greifswald works on the basis of the following principles: 

With amendments of 11.1.2001, 15.5.2003 and 2.11.2004 as well as the amendments of the contribution rules of 9.9.2010, 20.3.2012, 9.4.2015, 1.6.2016, 18.1.2018, 10.10.2019, 02.12.2020 and 29.12.2020.

The tasks of the organs of the Studierendenwerk are defined in the Studierendenwerksgesetz in § 8 for the supervisory board and in § 11 for the managing director. The composition of the supervisory board is regulated in the StudWG M-V § 7.

The supervisory board has to decide on the strategic goals in accordance with the Studierendenwerksgesetz and supervises the activities of the managing director. The supervisory board meets for at least four consultations in the course of a financial year. The rules of procedure of the supervisory board of the Studierendenwerk Greifswald form the basis for the organisation and working methods of the supervisory board.

The managing director manages the Studierendenwerk and conducts the business of the Studierendenwerk, unless the supervisory board is responsible. She (he) is the superior of the employees of the Studierendenwerk and represents the Studierendenwerk in court and in legal transactions.

Managing director of the Studierendenwerk is Dr. Cornelia Wolf-Körnert.

The deputy managing director is Ina Abel (head of the accounting/controlling department).
